DNS Africa Media and Communications applies to be a member of the Coalition for Digital Africa.

The Coalition for Digital Africa is an initiative that aims to bring together stakeholders to expand the Internet in Africa. The Coalition promotes innovation and encourages entrepreneurial efforts aimed at strengthening Internet infrastructure to support the development of Africa’s digital economy.

Launched by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in 2022, the Coalition conducts activities that advance Africa’s digital transformation.

In partnership with governments, regional and international organizations, and the local Internet community, the Coalition provides investments in Internet infrastructure, offers capacity-building workshops, and facilitates participation in the multistakeholder policymaking process.

We welcome the involvement of like-minded organizations who want to contribute.

The Coalition is focused on three major areas:

Securing the stability of the DNS, thereby strengthening the Internet infrastructure in Africa and enhancing its security and resiliency.

Equipping Africa’s workforce with the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in the multistakeholder model of Internet governance.

The Coalition for Digital Africa will create affinity among Internet access providers, content providers, public and private sector actors, and others to enable an Internet that is useful and empowering for people across Africa. By working together, pooling resources, and helping each stakeholder develop specific capacities, the benefits provided through each initiative will be maximized.

The membership as increased since inception. Members are:

  • Internet Society (ISOC)
  • Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC)

DNS Africa Media and Communications submitted an application for review and hope to join this champions of the Internet in Africa.
